Announcing the SVW 2015 T-shirt design

Posted on 16 Dec 2014

Following feedback from SVW 2014, the SVW Team decided to put the 2015 T-shirt design in the hands of those will be wearing them - the students!

We're delighted to reveal the design for the front of the SVW 2015 T-shirts…

The winning design is that of Dmitrijs Golubevs, a student at Plymouth University.

Students from around the UK submitted their T-shirt designs in October and November, and then the top designs were presented to a panel of judges in early December, including…

  • Wayne Hemingway, British fashion designer and Founder of fashion label Red or Dead
  • Vicky Browning, Director of Charity Comms
  • Kristian Volsing, curator within the Contemporary Architecture, Design and Digital department at the V&A Museum.

The judges' told us, "We think that this modern design is a fantastic reflection of the many interpretations of volunteering, and also of the network and connections that volunteering creates in communities. In addition, we felt that Dmitrijs understood the importance of a bold, clear and simple design for t-shirts. Congratulations!"

Dmitrijs told us that he created this design "to show how multi-sided and various volunteering can be." After hearing he'd won, he said, "Thank you for choosing my design for SVW 2015 T-shirt design and for such a great opportunity to take part in SVW. This is unbelievable. I am really glad that judging panel liked my idea."

Every college and university that has registered to host SVW 2015 will receive 20 free SVW t-shirts. These will be posted in early February and all staff will receive an email in January to confirm their t-shirt allocation.
